The next day started with a quick look out the window to check the weather, and overnight the clouds had mounted. You could literally smell the rain which was about to come. So we made us on our way to the Eiffel Tower real quickly. Trocadero was our designated exit from the Metro and we had to walk around the complex, because the floor tiles between the two buildings was being rebuilt. After this major "detour" we reached the front side with it's great view of the Eiffel Tower. We then crossed the Seine to climb the tower by elevator, although we could have done the stairs. On reaching the second floor the rain started to fall. Just a little at first, but after our descent we took a train to Notre Dame cathedral. When we got there, the rain was pouring down on us. Fortunately the cathedral's roof is still watertight after nearly 700 years since it's construction. The rain was still there when we left the cathedral, so we sneaked from one bistro to the next church or shop until reaching the Galeries Lafayette, one of the most famous and beautiful shopping centers in the world. After more than 2 hours of browsing and a little shopping we return to our hotel as the rain showed no signs of stopping.

One day to go, until our ride home! And you'll find that on here.
